In Kansas there is something to be said about dependability and being the best. It doesn’t matter if it is on the diamond or in your garage you respect a history of greatness. In 1985 Bret Saberhagen won MVP of the World Series. 30 years later Salvador Perez won MVP. Both world champions and Ford F150 all built there successes right here in Kansas City.
There’s an added pride in knowing that your hometown heroes really are hometown heroes. The fact that Salvador Perez and Bret Saberhagen started in KC, earned their success in KC, and shared their glory with KC means a lot to people. The commonality between Bret, Salvy, and Ford F150 being built in KC gave us the foundation for the concept.
